Privacy policy
Margin is designed to be useful without collecting a dossier about you. Your working sheets stay locally in Chrome.
Effective August 3, 2026
What Margin stores
Margin stores the sheets, values, labels, categories, notes and source links you create in Chrome’s local extension storage. This information remains on your device and is used only to provide Margin’s features.
Webpage access
When you explicitly ask Margin to capture a selected number or short piece of text, the extension can read that selection together with basic source information such as the page title and URL. Margin does not continuously monitor your browsing or collect a history of the pages you visit.
What Margin does not do
- Margin does not require an account.
- Margin does not transmit your sheets or captured values to Minor Works or another external service.
- Margin does not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
- Margin does not use analytics to track the contents of your sheets.
Permissions
Margin uses Chrome permissions to open its side panel, save your work locally, add capture commands and read content only when you invoke a capture. If you grant broader optional website access, that access is used to make user-requested capture work consistently across sites.
Deleting your data
You can delete sheets and values within Margin. Uninstalling the extension removes its locally stored extension data from Chrome.
